As you most likely realized, this is our homepage! Here, you can browse through the top songs,
stems (parts of a song, such as the bass, drums, vocals, etc.), and users. You can also check out
the featured Remix Wizard, through which you can directly remix your favorite artist's music!
If you're an artist, get more info through the "for artists" link; if you're a fan, get more info
through the "for fans" link. To make music, click "Create music"; to discover more music, click "Discover."
This is where you discover the great songs, stems, and users in our community. You can filter
the results by most popular, most played, and most recent. Below these options are additional
filtering options to help your discovery. Any audio you find can be played, mixed, and purchased!
When you find a user you like, click through to their profile to learn more and hear all their work.
This is your search engine. For a quick search, type in a keyword that describes the music you're
looking for and press search. If you would like to search by instrument, key, tempo (speed),
type of audio (music, sound, or speech), date, or user, click "advanced" under the search box.
Each search result will tell you the title of the audio file and the name of the artist who created it. Through the results, you will be able to play the audio file, "mix" it by loading it into the MixMaker, and purchase it to support your favorite unsigned and indie artists. Through the dropdown list, you can go to that audio's profile, comment on it, and "pin" it to use it later.

This is our online MixMaker, where you can make your own songs and remixes. Each row is a different recording
contributed by our community that can be edited using our cut, copy, zoom, and duplicate (2nd from the left on
the bottom row of tools) tools. To make mixing easier, use the "grid" mode, which will cause the audio to snap to the beat.
The backwards arrow is the undo tool. The GR/UG buttons allow you to group/ungroup audio files.
To add music to your mix, click "search" on the upper right hand side of the page. You'll notice that the tempo (speed) of the mix is displayed to the right of the editing tools. When searching, it will be helpful if you search by this tempo. If you're finished with your mix, click "publish" to publish to the MixMatchMusic community. If you want to save the mix and finish it later, click "save draft."

This is where you upload stems, unfinished works, and songs to the community. We give you the chance to provide a lot of
information about the audio file so that it's easier for other users to find.
The only info required is the title of the upload as well as the type of upload it is - whether it's music, sound, or speech, and what kind of music, sound, and speech it is. But, beyond that, you can list the other artists that are attributed to the work, the genre, instrument, tempo, key, what it sounds like, and any tags you can think of.
To make uploading faster, you can build an upload queue. To upload a file, click browse to find the file. Then, to add to upload more audio, click "add to queue". When uploading your audio, you can choose to publish it to the community, or you can keep it private and publish it later. You can upload WAV, AIFF, or MP3 files. For in-site use, all files are converted to MP3.
